Tender and Tasty; What More Could You Ask For from Owton’s?

Rump steak is usually said to have a greater flavour than sirloin steak since it’s generally larger and has a much harder texture. We recommend patting your rump steak dry, rubbing it with vegetable oil, and seasoning it on both sides with salt before cooking. When the pan is very hot, add the steak and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish. For a more well-done result, cook for an additional minute on each side.

Rump Steak

Rump steak is a flavourful cut taken from the lower back of the cow, near the hindquarters. Despite being slightly firmer than more premium cuts like fillet or rib eye, rump steak’s taste and reasonable cost make it a favourite for everyday meals and weekend treats.
